Arizona Restaurant Week 2010 is undoubtedly one of my favorite time of the year next to Christmastime.  This September 18th to September 26th 2010 you will have the opportunity to eat at some of the finest restaurants in the Valley as well as Tucson for a prix-fixe discounted price for a full three course meal. For the Phoenix area there are $29. pp and $39. pp 3 course meal options, if you see a cute little wine glass next to your pick, your meal will also include a glass of wine!  Tucson eateries have a $19. pp, $29. pp, and $39. pp 3 course options.  Go here for a list of participating Phoenix restaurants and click herefor the list of the Tucson participating restaurants.  This year there are also gluten free options symbolized by a (GF) next to the restaurant.  Reservations for Restaurant Week are highly recommended.  You can always obtain these by calling the restaurant or simply going to Open Table and make your res with a click of the mouse!

Also, stay tuned to the Food Tramp Diaries as I will be posting my personal reviews of the places I choose to check out for restaurant week.  My hardest decision is always, “where to go” as all of the menus already look excellent.  Being a stay at home mom, living on one income with a growing family, this is always an excellent chance to experience champagne tastes on a beer budget so to speak.

Foodies like us and the City of Scottsdale is throwing a “Trolley Dine Around” this Thursday, December 3rd!  It will be like a progressive dinner at three different “hot” dining spots and the trolley will take you to each one!  It starts off at my favorite Scottsdale restaurant, Metro Brasserie for a Puree of potato soup, bacon topped, creme fraiche, chives and lardons.  Then we’ll hop on the Trolley “ding ding”, and head to Cafe Forte where we’ll get to have Cafe Meatloaf, burgundy wine sauce, caramelized onions, smashed golden potatoes tossed with corn & fresh veggies for the entree.  Back upon the trolley we will arrive at AZ 88 where there will be a selection of desserts for us to choose.
 

If you’re not familiar with Foodies Like Us, please allow me to introduce you.  Foodies Like Us is a company formed by two great friends, Susie Timm and J. E. Pizarro, former bankers who decided to risk it all to start a concept that was close to their hearts.  They offer “…unique and affordable culinary adventures to the home cook.”  They are both highly passionate about food and it shows!  I had the pleasure of being introduced to Susie a few years ago through our husbands and was so happy to meet her, J. The Dine Around on Thursday is sold out, but that does not  mean you still can’t hop on and experience it for yourself.  Foodies will be hosting two more dine arounds  with different restaurant stops, but same concept.  I am an avid “Foodies” event goer, so you may see me at all three!  Be there or be not so culinarily cool.
